Road repair works on the Meath Road

Bray Municipal District are planning to commence road repair works on the Meath Road between Putland Road and Convent Avenue during week beginning Monday 12th November. The works will take approximately 7 working days to complete.

The works will involve the excavation of the existing road carriageway to a depth of 350mm and reconstruction with a stone layer with an asphalt surface. Each half of the road will be excavated and trenched out and then reconstructed in turn. During this process there will be no street parking or vehicular access to properties within the works zone. However, pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. Barriers will be placed to segregate road users from the works.

The work will create significant noise and dust and the contractor is required to mitigate the impact of these in so far as reasonably practicable. The works have been scheduled to avoid busy periods in the town and the extent of the works has been limited to minimise the duration of the disruption on residents.

The contractor appointed to carry out the works is DM Morris Ltd. and final arrangements are being worked out with them for traffic management.

Wicklow County Council regrets the inconvenience involved and will endeavour to ensure the work is completed with minimum delay.
