For the 5th year in a row, this February, the very best comedians in Ireland and beyond with a sprinkling of some Hollywood stardust are gathering on the Braymalfi coast for the Bray Comedy Festival 2019.
The five-day fun fest kicks off on Wednesday 13th February with the Opening Gala (tux optional) featuring THE Karl Spain; Bray Comedy Festival debutante – Kevin McGahern; John Colleary (Savage Eye); impressionist Al Foran and Après Match’s Barry Murphy. That’s just the first night.
The Festival continues with the best offer you’ll ever get on a Valentine’s Night – Tommy Tiernan. Not in Vicar Street, but live, with his Paddy Crazy Horse Tour, in Bray.
Follow that with something Weirdly Wonderful – this year’s Edinburgh Comedians’ Choice winner, Paul Currie & his quite specifically chosen guests – Zenjiro all the way from Japan (& BBC3) and the envy of every comic with his 4 million downloads and a summer of sell-out gigs, Tony Cantwell.
“Giz A Laugh” creator and the woman who brings us joy, Shardon and Chanto, Enya Martin adds Bray Comedy Festival to her continual sell out appearances.
They sold out last year, so they had to be back – Father Michael and Kathleen in all their dysfunctional coupled glory. Scott Carpurro (Mrs. Doubtfire, Star Wars: Phantom Menace, BBC’s That Gay Show) is the special guest during the Best New Act Final.
Kids will want to take their folks to This is Your Trial. Their folks will want to take them to Family V YouTube. Grannies may get a shock at Bingo Loco, but everyone else that heads to this psychedelic, BIG prize giving bingo rave will just want more.
It’s a packed schedule. With more acts to be announced in the coming weeks. Comedy fans might want to decamp to Bray for all five days of the 5th Bray Comedy Festival this February. The trick is to book early and not miss a single gig.
In venues dotted around Bray, tickets from €0 – €30 for selected gigs go on sale from www.braycomedyfest.ie/.
