Bray Jazz Festival returns for its 20th anniversary this May Bank Holiday weekend

Bray Jazz Festival returns for its 20th anniversary this May Bank Holiday weekend with a packed programme that confirms its status as one of Ireland’s leading jazz happenings.

The festival brings some heavily decorated heavy-hitters to town, including jazz guitar God John Scofield, who has won three Grammy Awards in as many years, and the 14 times Grammy nominated pianist Fred Hersch, amongst others. Alongside a busy programme of main shows, featuring artists from as far afield as Lithuania, West Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, France, Germany and the UK, the festival will also stage a lively programme of free to attend jazz fringe gigs at bars, hotels and other spaces across the town.

Described by one critic as “one of the very best small jazz festivals in Europe,” The festival is expected to attract upwards of 6,000 concert goers to the town.
