Bray is the perfect place to soak up the Christmas spirit!
Bray Chamber, Bray.ie and Wicklow County Council are once again encouraging everyone to shop locally and support the wide range of businesses in Bray town this festive season. You can pick up a gift or simply enjoy some festive cheer at one of the many pubs, clubs and restaurants throughout the town and with *free car parking at weekends throughout December, it makes Bray the perfect place to soak up the Christmas spirit.
The initiative is part of the Christmas in Bray celebrations which sees Christmas sparkle into life on November 23rd with Bray Town Centre’s Christmas lights switch-on where one lucky family (up to 2 adults and three children) will have the prestigious role of pushing the button to officially turn on the town’s Christmas lights. To enter this competition please click here.
The event will be hosted by this year’s Bray Chamber of Commerce Endeavour Civic award winner Adam Burke, who is also well known for his energetic MC skills for “Bingo Loco” and Hardy Har Comedy. Adam really wants the people of Bray to come and sing their hearts out to popular Christmas tunes and spread the Christmas Spirit. If the town sings loud enough, we hope we will get the attention of the North pole and Santa might arrive to see what it is happening, so come along and sing loud for Santa to hear!
The Christmas lights switch-on is expected to be a busy one with hundreds of people flocking to the civic plaza to enjoy the event. If you’re planning on being there too, why not come to Bray a little earlier, grab something to eat, enjoy a spot of Christmas shopping and then pick your spot in the plaza ready for the festivities to start.
Steven Matthews, Cathaoirleach of Bray Municipal District said, “Bray’s Christmas lights switch-on is the perfect reason to gather your family, wrap up warm and snuggle together in the civic plaza as we officially start Christmas and remember for all your shopping needs, places to eat, drink and be merry you can’t afford to miss Christmas in Bray.”
Bray is packed full of incredible event experiences that you can’t get anywhere else this Christmas – From watching ‘Christmas Movies at Mermaid’, visiting ‘Santa at Killruddery’, catching ‘Candlelight Concerts’ to exploring the ‘Killruddery Christmas Market’ Bray really has something for everyone this festive season.
