Be a good pet ambassador, bag that poo & become #LitterHeroes

A new Anti-Dog Fouling Awareness Campaign is calling on all dog owners in Bray to be a good “pet ambassador”.

This week Bray Municipal District and Bray.ie launched a new awareness initiative which is asking dog owners be a good pet ambassador, bag that poo and become #LitterHeroes.

Speaking at the launch, Bray District Cathaoirleach, Cllr Steven Matthews, said “While the vast majority of dog owners are responsible and pick up after their pets, a small amount refuse to do the right thing resulting in our local pavements, parks, sports pitches, seafront and beach blighted by dog mess, this is offensive and potentially dangerous.”

He added: “The aim of this initiative is to encourage all dog owners to act responsibly and have respect for their dog, their neighbours and their community.”

Cllr Matthews stated: “It really is simple if there isn’t a bin around or available, the dog owners should take the mess home with them. Being responsible can make a big difference – if we all work together we all can reap the benefits of a clean and tidy town.”

The initiative will include an outdoor poster campaign and will be also supported here on Bray.ie website and on social media, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
