Bray Chamber’s President’s Dinner a great success…

Bray Chamber and Districts first networking event of 2019, the President’s Dinner, took place in the Esplanade Hotel on Friday 15th February with 100 guests attending.

The night proved a great success with local business people, TDs, Wicklow County Council officials and other local representatives strengthening local business connections while enjoying the great fare on offer.

Those in attendance included Bray Municipal District and Wicklow County Council Cathaoirleach Pat Vance,  Minister Andrew Doyle TD and John Brady TD along with a wide range of businesses from across all sectors.

Sarah Finnegan, a member of the Chamber Executive, and Chair of the event organizing committee acted as MC for the Evening.  Speaking before the meal, Chamber President Pat Ó Súilleabháin concentrated on the important work that the Chamber does in creating and maintaining the necessary environment for strong and sustainable business.  He encouraged the 700+ businesses to engage with the Chamber to give a stronger voice to the enterprise community of Bray.  Referring to the work done in the Chamber to create a more gender-balanced Executive, Pat emphasised the need for that balance to exist in all sectors of business.  And he had this message for all those standing in the upcoming local and European elections: “I call on all candidates to ensure that they are focused on supporting a strong and enterprising business community.  Remember – the financial well being of our town and its residents is dependent on an enterprising culture and thriving profitable businesses”

He finished by thanking the sponsors and local business who supplied goodie bags for guests –  Oriflame, Alpha CC, Sams Cookies, Oscar Wilde Water, SeaLife.

Colm Lyons, CEO and Founder of Fire.com was the speaker on the night and he led people through his journey of success.

Colm spoke about having three core mentors/friends who advised him along the way, and all the while keeping his end game in focus, so not getting caught up in the minutia of today’s problems. Good advice indeed.
